DESCRIPTION
In this course we will explore three phases of healing that one goes through after treatment ends inviting compassion for where we are in the process. We will discuss body image and different MEDS (Mindfulness, Exercise, Diet and Sleep) that can assist us in (re)connecting to our body and regain control, stability and strength as we move forward.
GOALS, BENEFITS, & RISKS
Cancer and its treatment can result in some long-lasting changes to your body, your body image and your body’s appearance. Often, we are invited to or want nothing more from ourselves than to get back “to normal”. Allowing ourselves to pause, and become aware of what phase of the healing process we are in will help us understand what it is our body needs.
Body image refers to the personal relationship you have with this human capsule you live in – the way you perceive, think and feel about all aspects of your body and the way it functions. Our body image is always changing. The goal of the course is to invite us back into relationship with our body and discover new ways to live from the inside out with acceptance and grace. I introduce a powerful dose of different MEDS including mindfulness, exercise, diet and sleep that help promote a sense of vitality and thriving. Through designed experiential exercises you will be invited to become aware of, connect with, and trust your own body’s integrated intelligence.
